Full Moon in Aquarius opposing the Leo Sun

A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality. - John Lennon

The Aquarius Full Moon on July 31st at 10:43am Universal Time opposes the Sun and Venus in Leo alighting our awareness of the celebration of self within the context of our hopes and desires in the larger world. Leo is impeccably self-possessed, full of light and joy (perhaps excessive, perhaps not) and hungry for validation of the crowd for the sharing of its special gifts. It is a fiery, resilient sign and while no sign may be more prideful or apt to feel bruised now and again when their delicate egos are poked, Leo types can usually bounce back and a fill a room with their fabulous being-ness.

With the Moon directly across the sky in Aquarius, our own Leo-ness is finding its place in the spotlight and we are asked to shine in whatever capacity we feel so called (You can look to your chart to see what house Leo rules for a better idea of what area of life is calling upon your powers of self). With Venus in Leo conjunct the Sun, our desires are highlighted and the trick seems to be how to boldly go after what we want in a way that honors our connection to the larger world as well as the sort of community we want to support and nurture in the future. Of course, how to do this is a very personal reflection and Leo the Aquarius polarity is much more comfortable in taking action than wasting time daydreaming. You may find yourself in a position to take action from the vantage point of these two sides of life. How can I celebrate myself and honor my relationships? It's a trickier balance than you may suspect but the price tag is being highlighted with the cosmic line-up. Lack of clarity is no longer an excuse!

The Full Moon in Aquarius, while righteously raucous and refreshingly celebratory, may bring to light the tension between what we desire and what is ethical within a larger context. An appreciation of our self is mandatory but we have to remember that everything we do has a ripple and to use the power and brightness afforded us by the Sun in Leo to stay in touch with that part of ourselves that knows it's all a game, that part of ourselves that can live without validation of the crowd, and that can ultimately serve a better world far outside the realm of personal vanity. The Aquarius Moon is often talked about as being "rebellious," but more importantly it's about being bold enough to follow your own beliefs and direction even if the "herd" isn't buying it yet. When the Moon is in Aquarius it's important for us to tune into our own unique sense of ethics and follow what feels distinctly right for us. There doesn't have to be a contradiction of course, but if there is ... this is the time to find out.

This Full Moon we are asked at once to stand within our own power and observe it as if we are an outsider, taking stock of what is needed to bolster our role for everyone. If we are serving ourselves and those around us (and with Aquarius, it's a pretty wide circumference) - even if that means yes, just spreading the LOVE - then we have found the sweet spot of this awesome configuration. Enjoy!
